PEERS CLINIC
Georgia State will provide training for teens (14-17) as well as young adults (18-26). The programs are very similar in content. The primary difference is that the young adult curriculum includes information pertaining to dating & relationships.
What Is PEERS?
Program for the Education & Enrichment of Relational Skills
The PEERS® Curriculum is a 16-week evidence-based social skills intervention for motivated individuals, who are interested in learning new ways of making and keeping friends. The curriculum is broken down into clearly divided lesson plans with concrete rules and steps, corresponding homework assignments, and fun socialization activities to ensure that teens practice what they’ve learned. PEERS® may be appropriate for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Anxiety, Depression or other social and behavioral disorders.
The Center for Leadership in Disability (CLD), at Georgia State University (GSU), has nine Certified Providers, all of whom have been trained by the PEERS® clinic at UCLA. Our team is available to provide training in multiple areas in Georgia. As sessions become available, this site will be updated with times, dates, and locations.
Please note, these programs require an application. If interested, you will be provided with information about our intake process, which consists of an application, as well as a video interview. During the interview, we will be assessing for the individual’s interest in learning how to make and keep friends, as the program relies heavily on self-motivation.

Individual sessions are available to individuals ages 9-26. For individuals ages 9-13, we will use the teen curriculum and make modifications based on the individual’s age and maturity level. The Individualized PEERS Sessions will be conducted via video conference call with a PEERS Certified provider.
Each session will be an hour in length and cover one of the topics within the PEERS curriculum. Individualized sessions can range from just one to all sixteen topics. This will be decided between you and your provider during your initial session. While the curriculum consists of 16 topics, there is not a limit on the number of sessions available to an individual. Each session will cost $100. Please complete the application below and a provider will be in contact with you.

CLD-led Groups at your School:
The CLD can facilitate the full 16-session curriculum within your school or district through a contract agreement. This agreement will include everything necessary to fully execute the program.
