Meet Cara Davis, an Academic Access Coordinator at CLD!
Cara joined the team at the Center for Leadership in Disability at the start of 2020. She serves as the Academic Access Coordinator at Inclusive Digital Expression and Literacy (IDEAL). IDEAL is a Post-Secondary Education program for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Cara engages with students and instructors to facilitate a meaningful and academic experience while at Georgia State. She also facilitates the Program for the Education & Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS) Social Skills Training. One thing Cara enjoys about her role is supporting students’ growth and watching them transform over the years. Born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, Cara is an avid lover of the Arts; she loves musical theatre, writing poetry, listening to music, as well as performing. A recent accomplishment she’s extremely proud of is publishing her first children's book, “Austin the Great”. She wrote it to spread awareness about Autism and encourage inclusivity. The three words she’d use to describe herself are: Compassionate; Sincere; and Resilient.
Thank you, Cara, for all you at CLD!
