Meet Marian Jackson, one of CLD’s Community Advisory Council (CAC) members!
Marian has been a member of the CAC for over two years. Her current role is as Vice-Chair. She believes in helping people. As a person with a disability herself, helping others with disabilities is one of her passions. She has lived in Fitzgerald, Georgia for six years, after growing up in south Georgia around Cordele. She is most proud of overcoming her struggles not being able to read as a child, and ultimately learning how to become a proficient public speaker at the University of Georgia’s Institute on Human Development and Disability. In her spare time, Marian likes to relax! She visits the pool, and goes sightseeing with friends and family. The three words she’d use to describe herself are: Kind, Passionate, and Listener.
Thank you, Marian, for all you do for the CAC!
