Meet Danny Housley, one of CLD’s Community Advisory Council (CAC) members!
Danny has been a member of the CAC for nearly three years, having joined in January of 2016. He works at Tools for Life as the Assistive Technology Acquisition manager, where he helps people with disabilities find resources to acquire assistive technology so they can be more independent. Danny also runs Credit-Able, Georgia’s alternative financing program. “The CAC is all about empowerment and independence which is aligned both with my personal views and with the mission of Tools for Life”, Danny says. He was born in LaFollette, TN, but has lived in Georgia since he was four; and in Atlanta since 1999. Danny likes that Georgia “usually has four seasons” and the state’s geographic diversity – “we have forests, coasts, and mountains”. In his free time, Danny remains an active advocate. A recent accomplishment includes his writing and receiving his first grant, which was able to expand the services of Credit-Able and serve hundreds of Georgians with disabilities to get loans for assistive technology and to build credit. The three words he’d use to describe himself are: Open; Odd; and Loyal.
Thank you, Danny, for all you do for the CAC!
