The Center for Leadership in Disability (CLD) at Georgia State, a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD), in partnership with the UCEDDs at Georgetown University and the University of Southern California, and other key stakeholders, was awarded a grant to research, develop and disseminate a Diversity and Inclusion Training Action Plan (D&I-TAP). This new initiative was funded by the Administration on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
The goal of the D&I-TAP is to increase the diversity and cultural linguistic competence of UCEDDs by assisting network programs to embed culturally and linguistically competent policies, structures and practices within their core areas of training, community service, research, and information dissemination.
The multi-level approach to developing a D&I-TAP will include environmental scans, interviews and a review of existing resources used by the UCEDDs that focus on diversity, inclusion, disproportionality and academic-community partnerships.
